Wealth brings privileges, but when you walk into a room I can't tell how much money is in your bank account. I can tell what color you are and whether you are a man or a woman. And so can a human resources director, police officer, or shop keeper. When you walk through the door of a store in a rough part of town, you'll probably walk in and out unoticed. But when your black friend walks into that store he or she will probably be watched. That's the privilege that comes with your white skin.
