Your Voice is important to changing racism for good!
When I was 12 I ran away, was picked up by the police and brought to the station to wait for my Dad.
While I was there I lit a cigarette in the middle of the station and proceeded to smoke it after I was ordered to put it out. The police didn't attack me or slam me to the ground. They stood there until my Dad got there and I finished my cigarette.
Was I defiant?...yes! Did I refuse an order? Yes! Was I wrong? Yes!
No one was harmed and the police knew that brutal force was not appropriate
